Each spring, current Winthrop University students are eligible to submit their recent work to the Undergraduate Juried Exhibition. This exhibition is an opportunity for students to have their work selected by a prominent regional juror to exhibit in a professional gallery setting. This year’s juror is Michael Manes, the director of Blue Spiral I in Asheville, North Carolina. Open to students in the department of fine arts and the department of design, this yearly exhibition showcases Winthrop’s brightest talent from areas such as painting, sculpture, jewelry/metals, printmaking, interior design, illustration, and photography.

The Winthrop University Department of Theatre and Dance presents “In the Red and Brown Water,” the lyrical and intoxicating story of a young woman thrust into womanhood and her subsequent fall into the murky waters of life, written by the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of “Moonlight.” This production contains strong language and is not suitable for children.

9th Annual Monarch and Milkweed Seminar with Butterfly Release and Reception to honor law enforcement, pollinators, and justice for victims of violence. Tea & Topics seminar on Monarch butterflies and “seed saving.” Milkweed seeds and plants will be given away. Guests are encouraged to bring seeds from plants and other seminars. Refreshments will be served. The butterfly release will be in honor of law enforcement and in memory of domestic violence victims, opioid victims, and all the victims in the Eric Joseph Justice Garden.

Music has the power to unite and that is just what we’re celebrating in the 2019 Come-See-Me Parade! “Rocking Rock Hill” will showcase music and bands from every era and genre of music. From Elvis to Panic at the Disco, we want to hear and see them all! Join Glen and Glenda for this year’s Come-See-Me Parade to celebrate everything we love about music. Entry forms are available at comeseeme.org and must be submitted by Friday, March 15. The parade committee will review entry forms for theme adherence and creativity. Please include the genre of music you intend to play or represent. Entry fee for each parade unit will be $50 and is due by Monday, April 1st.

NEW PARADE ROUTE FOR 2019:
The parade will begin at 100 East Main Street, then continue up Main Street. The route will turn right onto Elizabeth Lane at Fountain Park, then right on Black Street. The parade will end at the Black Street and Saluda Street intersection.

Thank you in advance for leaving your pets at home. Participants may not throw items from floats or vehicles. Canceled in the event of rain.
