Rock Hill Country Club was full of springtime cheer this morning as the 2019 Come-See-Me Festival logo was officially unveiled. The logo was revealed by Chad Echols, 2019 Festival Chair, at a breakfast meeting of the York County Regional Chamber. Sponsored by Peoples First Insurance, the event brought together business and community leaders for a preview of Rock Hill’s yearly salute to spring.

The Come-See-Me Festival is unique for many reasons, including each year’s custom logo. The festival chair collaborates with a team to develop a design based upon the original works of illustrator Vernon Grant. The Vernon Grant Committee consults with the festival chair to make sure the artist’s legacy is preserved.

This year’s logo includes a rendition of Glen the Frog that was inspired by the 1985 festival logo. Chad Echols’ father, Doug Echols, was festival chair that year. The background for this year’s logo comes from the 1964 logo. Keep an eye out for this nostalgic work of art around town on posters, souvenirs, and other items.

The Come-See-Me Festival Community Service Merit Awards were awarded to six individuals. This year’s honorees are Dr. Martha Edwards, Jennifer Graham, Pastor C.T. Kirk, Ashley Owens, Amanda Riggan, and Leon Yard.

The 2019 Come-See-Me Festival will kick off on Thursday, April 4th with a musically-themed parade through Old Town Rock Hill. Over the course of the following ten days, you’ll be able to dance the night away at the Beach Bash, cheer on your favorite amphibian at the Mayor’s Frog Jump, and sample craft beverages and delicious food at Hops at the Park and Gourmet Gardens. Enjoy live music? Put Glencairn Gardens on your schedule for lunch and dinner, as well as Moonlight Jazz & Blues and the Tailgate Party and Fireworks Extravaganza. Like to be active in the outdoors? Register for the Come-See-Me Road Races or take your little ones to Healthy Kids Zone.
