Moonlight, barbeque, and tailgate…these three words might sound like the makings of a perfect spring evening. But at the Come-See-Me Festival in Rock Hill, SC, they represent two days’ worth of fun!
On Friday, April 28, spend an evening under the stars at Moonlight Jazz & Blues. Sponsored by BB&T, Caraustar Industries, Hamilton Martens, LLC, A. Watts Huckabee and Carolina Insurance & Investment Group (CIIG), Leitner Construction Company, Inc., and Patrick Management Company, the music starts at 6pm with the Jason Poore Trio’s mix of rock, jazz, blues, and country. Then at 8pm, Daniel D takes the stage. This Charleston-born electric violinist will change your ideas of what this instrument can do. Bring your family and friends, a picnic and cooler, and head over to Winthrop Lake for a relaxing night out.
While you’re there, head over to the Barbeque Cook-Off area for Anything But Butts. This competition features all sorts of dishes from gumbo to desserts. Sample these tasty creations for $1 each, then vote for your favorite for the People’s Choice award.
The Barbeque Cook-Off continues on Saturday, April 29. Awards for barbeque, ribs, and the Anything But Butts contest will be presented at 1pm. Then at 3pm, stop by and purchase barbeque sandwiches and meat by the pound while supplies last. It’s an easy—and delicious—way to feed your friends during the Tailgate Party. The Barbeque Cook-Off and Anything But Butts are sponsored by Morton & Gettys, Palmetto Waterproofing, Tarheel Contractors Supply, Inc., and York County Natural Gas.
The 2017 Come-See-Me Festival goes out with a bang at Saturday night’s Tailgate Party sponsored by Burns Chevrolet and The Pump House Restaurant. Bring a tent, chairs, and cooler to Winthrop Lake starting at 3pm. Live music starts at 3pm and continues throughout the evening. Featured performers include Chase Killough, Jenn Thornton, and Swingin Richards. Don’t miss the Carolina Skydiving Exhibition at 6:45pm sponsored by Family Trust Federal Credit Union. Then stay for the festival finale, the Fireworks Extravaganza sponsored by Domtar, Fast Signs-Rock Hill, KCI Technologies, Inc., and Plato’s Closet-Rock Hill.
